Last week on March 8, 2013, Forget the Resume: Serious Job Finder's Playbook was released. This book covers a six-week program structured for job seekers who want to be better engaged with job searching and hiring managers, while straying away from more traditional methods. This playbook goes beyond the resumes, cover letters, job fairs, networking mixers, and electronic job postings.

In 2010, the average number of applications submitted per job opening was 118, according to the new research from the Corporate Executive Board. And yet, U.S. unemployment figures continue to hold steady at 7.9% this year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS). Forget the Resume Playbook guides job seekers through a process of targeting and researching industries and jobs that they want to pursue by focusing on the hiring manager.

"In an age of smartphones, 3 terabyte computers, and online everything, why are we still using these antiquated and ineffective tools?" wonders author John Lee. "The strategy from this book aims to help the jobseeker stand out from the crowd by getting past sophisticated key word search algorithms, HR/personnel intermediaries and hiring softwares."

The six-week program that Forget the Resume Playbook offers is available on Amazon.com now. http://www.amazon.com/Forget-Resume-Serious-Finders-Playbook/dp/0988473828/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1363106837&sr=1-1&keywords=forget+the+resume#reader_0988473828

Additionally, workshops are being offered in Seattle, WA on March 21, 2013 and in Bellevue, WA on March 23, 2013.
