The story also portrays Ruth Dunmore's search for real honest love, but this seems impossible when the Reverend Isaiah Dunmore receives his newest heavenly calling. In all these tales, passion and longing are contrasted with duties, responsibilities and circumstances resulting from the actions of others. Choices must be made, independence had, but their paths in life are fraught with twists and turns.

About the Author
Donna Bender Hood lives with her husband of 49 years in a small rural community in the Sierra Nevada Mountains north of Sacramento, Calif. She is retired from the telecommunications industry and a great grandmother. Retirement gave her the time to do two things she enjoys: writing and quilting. Hood is a charter member of the local quilt group, The Needle Nellies. For the past 19 years, the members have stitched a quilt, sold raffle tickets, hosted an excellent outdoor quilt show, and donated the proceeds to their volunteer fire department.
