English language learners seeking to improve their English now have a helpful new resource: daily English lessons offered by Amy Gillett, author of the popular ESL book series Speak English Like an American. The lessons are being offered on Ms. Gillett's new Facebook page, Speak English with Amy Gillett. Launched only two weeks ago, the new page already has fans from a dozen countries.
Ms. Gillett launched the new English language learning site to offer her readers short daily English lessons. "English is now the global language of business, and there are millions of people around the world seeking ways to improve their English. Many of these people have just a few minutes a days to spend on their English. My new Facebook page is designed to help these people," says Ms. Gillett.
The Facebook page also offers Ms. Gillett's readers a way to ask her English language usage questions and questions about improving their conversational English.
Ms. Gillett's book series includes five titles: Speak English Like an American, More Speak English Like an American, Speak English Around Town, Speak Business English Like an American, and Speak Better Business English and Make More Money. The titles are available on the Language Success Press website. They are also available as Kindle ebooks through Amazon. Speak English Like an American and Speak English Around Town are also available as iPad apps through iTunes. The titles are published by Language Success Press.
"The Speak English Like an American series is a fun and inspiring way to learn conversational English," says Tanya Peterson, Marketing Director of Language Success Press. "We're excited that author Amy Gillett is now offering daily English lessons through a new Facebook page."
The Speak English Like an American series has helped tens of thousands of English language learners master everyday English. The books and CDs are popular for both self-study and for the classroom, in use at dozens of universities and language schools around the world. The series teaches conversational American English, with a focus on current expressions and idioms.
While idioms can be tricky for non-native English speakers, Ms. Gillett explains that they are a key part of gaining fluency in English. "Idioms add color to the language. They make it come alive. They make English learners' speech sound more natural and less foreign."
