GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas
As far as his memories and the nondisclosure agreement allowed him, author Norman Taylor Lee shares an eventful memoir that entails the good and the bad things he can remember during his time in the Air Force. In his short yet exciting account, he divulges the "Prejudice and Discrimination in the United States Air Force (USAF) and the United States Air Force Security Service (USAFSS) 1955-1975" (published by Xlibris).
"In my opinion, an autobiography is a special recounting of a person's life and the momentous circumstances that affected them both positively and negatively. By 1980, the year I retired, prejudice and discrimination had ceased to exist for me as a civilian, or at least it was de jure in Dallas, Texas, which was definitely a surprise for us," reveals Lee, "In the Air Force Security Service, however, my experiences, for the most part, were just the opposite."
Although tied by the nondisclosure agreement that he signed after retirement, Lee was still able to paint a vivid picture of the time he had as a part of the military force. Raw and poignant, his story highlights an experience that can be considered relatable by fellow retires and ex-Air Force soldiers.
