Evelyn Kahrs Writes New Children's Book I CAN FIND GOD

A recent study conducted by the Denver Post shows reading to young children is proven to be the single most important thing a parent can do to ensure their child's success in school.

The study also states that reading not only improves children's language development - the single strongest predictor of school success - but it also brings parents and children closer together.

But what if children could grow closer to God in addition to enhancing their reading skills? Author Evelyn Kahrs asked herself this very question.

In her book, I Can Find God, Kahrs helps children discover their spiritual magnificence and the presence of God throughout their daily lives, in all things, big or small. Kahrs believes that people everywhere can experience God through animals and nature and family and friends and people all around the world.

"I have such fond memories of reading to my children and grandchildren that I wanted to create a series of books that shares the wonderful and positive message of God's presence to children everywhere, so that they too can witness God in all things, big or small," says Kahrs.

With the help of illustrator Linda M. Brandt, I Can Find God is accompanied by watercolor paintings and pen and ink drawings that show the many places God can be found.

"Children of all backgrounds are often expected to follow religious teachings, but often aren't encouraged to think about them," said Kahrs. "I Can Find God empowers children to grow spiritually as they think about the thoughts, questions and ideas my book presents - who or what God is, where God is and how God can help them."
