Author Emma Carlsson invites readers to experience her new inspirational novel, "The Cadaver's Journal" (published by Balboa Press), which follows Elsie Clarke as she learns the life story of a cadaver during her first day of medical school.

Carlsson's book will be presented at this year's Hayhouse I Can Do It (ICDI)! Conference in Orlando, Florida. The ICDI conference is an annual event attended by many of Hayhouse's top authors and contributors.

Elsie Clarke still can't grasp that she's in medical school. She dreamed of this day but never thought it would come. Now she finds herself looking at a cadaver, mentally preparing for her first examination of a body. The cadaver is accompanied by a journal written by the late woman. This journal is about to tell Elsie more about the woman than her body ever could.

"The Cadaver's Journal" follows Elsie as she studies the cadaver while reading her journal. As she reads the woman's journal, she realizes each part of her body tells a different story. Finally, she realizes the woman has but one final request for Elsie: heal the world.

"The stories are all things that are a part of everyone's lives - dealing with death, illness, injuries, heartbreak, trauma, racism, rape, healing, the consequences of alcohol," Carlsson says of her book. "And the power we all have to change the world to make it better."
