Author Elizabeth Newton returns for another chapter in the Train Flight series in her second adventure, "Train Flight: The Birth of Salvation" (published by Trafford Publishing). This time, the Captain and his two passengers crash land back in time, and they may be stuck there if they don't act quickly. The trip, though, may be a turning point for the crew.

Newton asks her readers, "What would time-travel be like? Ethical queries arise because of the question of free will and things that are ordained and whether it'd be okay with God if you went back to Biblical times and met Jesus. With this all in mind, there is so much opportunity for amazing stories that have the potential to be both a LOT of fun, and a little bit controversial."

After surviving a terrible time crash, the Captain, Evie Bamford and Paulo Vistar find themselves in 4 B.C. Jerusalem, but they're missing one very important thing: the space and time travelling steam engine. It's been stolen, and until they can recover it, the Captain and his friends must blend into the life and culture of Jerusalem as they try to find the steam engine. The crew comes up against King Herod the Great himself, along with a host of Roman soldiers and a cold-hearted slave-driver. Will they ever find their salvation, and is it the salvation they were truly expecting?

An excerpt from "Train Flight":

"In the spaceless realm of the time vortex, the Captain and his crew were in trouble. There had been a thud from the Train's mechanics. Usually, a gentle thud was normal after taking off, but this thud had sent the three travellers buckling to the floor of the strange, little spacecraft, and there had been a lot of turbulence following.

'My controls aren't working!' the Captain told his little crew. 'Nothing I'm doing is making the slightest difference!'"

Newton's writings come from a variety of sources throughout her life, allowing personal and professional experiences to inspire her. "Sometimes they require my science, history or religious knowledge I remember from high school, what I have personally researched and from what I know from my faith and church involvement," she says. "Sometimes they require my knowledge learnt from either personal experience or things that I see among young people in schools as a school teacher."
