Elizabeth Hugo Releases 'Life Lessons from My “Papa”'

Inspired by God to share her journey caring for her father, author Elizabeth Hugo penned "Life Lessons from My 'Papa'": A Daughter's Journey Caring for Her Elderly Father (published by CrossBooks); this experience was so precious to her that she wanted readers to be able to share in her joys and sorrows.
"This book is about my journey caring for my papa with the help of my immediate family members," Hugo states.
After the sudden death of her mother, Hugo's father came to live with her at age 92. "He was totally blind, insulin dependent and had dementia, requiring total care," she says. "God gave me strength, as He gives to all who are willing to accept His help, and enabled me to do the impossible; to care for my father."
"Life Lessons from My 'Papa'" shares Hugo's ups and downs through poignant anecdotes and applicable Scriptures. It is her hope that the lessons she learned through the challenges, joys and frustrations that accompanied her spiritual journey caring for her father in his final years would be an encouragement to readers. Each chapter recalls how she dealt with the subsequent emotional impact, realized her limitations, accepted help from others and relied on prayer for strength.
