Effects of War Examined in Brigitta Gisella Geltrich-Ludgate's New Novel

Author Brigitta Gisella Geltrich-Ludgate's recently released novel has been years in the making. "Dance Around The Treasure Box" (published by Xlibris) was written at the end of the Vietnam War years and rewritten in 2013-2014. This harrowing tale follows the life of a war veteran who will face a lot of adjustments upon returning from the battlefield.

Vietnam War hero, Fred, found it hard to readjust upon returning home to the United States. After risking his life in the battlefield, he went home only to find a lot of challenges waiting to be faced. Among the many things he needs to confront are finding a job in the Greater Los Angeles Area, taking care of his free-spirited wife who wants to divorce him, and then facing an unexpected child.

In order to deal with his various dilemmas, Fred will tap into the years and experiences he has had during the war. The complex workings of his mind and his decisions give readers a glimpse of what is life when a person, a war veteran, finds himself out-of-place in a land he once called and considered home. This is a story of struggle but also of hope and determination of a man, a husband and a father.

Brigitta Gisella Geltrich-Ludgate was born in Kitale, Kenya and received her education in Europe and in Canada. She completed her university studies in Cultural Anthropology and Archaeology at the United States and completed an ABD (all but defending dissertation) degree at the UC-Berkeley and UC-Los Angeles universities of California.
