Readers left hanging with Edmund Ironside's first book, "Faraway," should fret no more as the brilliant sci-fi author is back for the second installment of the Faraway Trilogy. This exciting sequel follows a small group of humans who are being prepared to take on a great task - the Second Journey. Suspense, wit and action swells in "Island In The Stars."
Due to ingrained corruption, Earth Empire is collapsing, but still dangerous. A select group of humans and their duster friends have been rescued from Faraway, and taken to a place of sanctuary; a wonder called Earth Island. Coming to terms with the natural world from their distant past, the humans are becoming stronger, smarter, and more spiritual. Other strange genetic changes become evident, unsettling and frightening to the humans and their duster friends.
Meanwhile, the Saulan sisters feel something profound is coming, but the Alphans are guarding a secret. Unannounced, their secret can no longer be hidden. The Second Journey has begun.
An excerpt from the book:
"'The dreams, Aldan! I know what will happen from Quwat's dreams, Aldan. It makes sense now. The dreams were instructions. We're going on a journey my love. Be brave, Aldan, Adam and Star. I feel it beginning!' Eesay was about to silently say more to her family, but the lights slowly faded."
In "Island In The Stars," the plot gets even gloomier and the action continues to heighten. As this epic outer space adventure continues, more twists and turns come into view as humanity struggles from the dark toward enlightenment.
