Hyperspace, earthlings, aliens, light travel, astrophysics and the Orion Nebula converge in Edgar J. Guedez's electric debut novel, "Beyond the Orion Nebula" (published by Trafford Publishing).
"We're not alone in our galaxy. We've just been unlucky thus far to find extraterrestrial intelligent life." These opening words set the stage for Guedez's eclectic sci-fi novel, a titillating tale that introduces readers to the Alidonian System of Worlds.
The Alidonian System of Worlds is in turmoil. Princess Arianne Alidan runs away from her cousin, Prince Narbonne, the leader of a rebellion trying to dethrone her father. Moreover, the princess' sister, Princess Amelie Alidan, is ill, bringing Princess Arianne's predicament closer to its breaking point. Yet, much to their surprise, the two princesses discover something more than liberation; they discover love.
"'Beyond the Orion Nebula' is a swashbuckling story about two space princesses finding love on Planet Earth while looking for help to defend their kingdom," explains Guedez, who describes the novel as adventurous and action-packed.
Guedez also hopes his book shatters the negative imagery of extraterrestrials. "My book teaches the principle that aliens could be like us, facing the same challenges and having the same basic needs as us, despite the advancement of their technology."
