Earl Watsons Releases Memoir of Hollywood's Grandeur

Built between 1923 and 1925, the famous Hollywood Hotel Knickerbocker was in its early days, a mainstay in the life of Hollywood's most glorious celebrities. But there is much more to Earl Watson, the man, who grew up in Chicago's South Side during the depression years. As a young man, he served proudly with the Armed Forces in Europe and fought in the fiercest battles of the war, first at Normandy and then in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of the Rhine River.

There is more to this modest gentleman from Chicago than a story about the past vestiges of the Knickerbocker and the famous people who lived there. About the Author
Earl Watson was born on January 1, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. He was raised at the height of the Depression Era in a small, two bedroom homes with four sisters and two brothers, in the Morgan park area. At the age of seven, the family moved to the Woodlawn area. He was drafted into the army engineers at 18 years of age. He was in the invasion of Normandy, D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, at the time the largest; and the Battle of the Rhine River. Upon his return, he settled in Hollywood and was the doorman at the world famous Hollywood Knickerbocker Hotel. He was rated by many as the best in the hotel business.
