We often are inspired by stories of how the lives of women have drastically improved, but author Emma Gomez remembers firsthand the difficulty of being a woman in a world not quite ready to accept her and her high aspirations.
Born in the rural mountains of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico in 1934 and later moving to the bustling streets of New York City, author Emma Gomez narrates her inspirational life story in her new memoir, "Emma Gomez: A Courageous Woman Displays True Grit."
A true story of facing trials and the satisfaction of meeting one's goals, this memoir follows Gomez through life as she handles a full time job, problems with her marriage, raises two children and works voluntarily on labor issues affecting women.
"I hope readers can use my experiences as learning tools to help them understand that success does not come easily," Gomez said. "It involves a certain degree of sacrifice and endurance."
With many stories and anecdotes, Gomez's memoir offers encouragement to all determined, courageous women seeking success.
