In "Consolidated Separates" (published by AuthorHouse), author E.B. Burbridge's new collection of short stories, readers are taken on a whimsical literary journey through different genres and writing styles.
"Accept the invitation to become entangled in the situations of the characters of several genres," he says.
Readers join Burbridge as he takes them on a ride through scattered thoughts and half-dreamed ideas to a land of unrestricted clarity and brilliance. Each story holds readers trapped in a different world of unknowns and thoughts as they confront odd happenings and scary circumstance.
From a tale about teens who must take drastic measures to get an education to one about falling asleep at the wheel and waking up to an unwanted surprise, Burbridge looks at the "what ifs" of the human experience. With a variety of tales, "Consolidated Separates" has a story for anymore, regardless of their background.
An excerpt from "Consolidated Separates":
"YOU'RE LATE, ANDY! I try not to worry, but you have not spent enough time with me to stay out of trouble. I see you sit that brown bag on the table; trying not to make the bottles clang together. Grocery shopping at the liquor store? I don't think so. Now what happened? We've come a long way; too long to mess up. Maybe I jumped to conclusions and it's not alcohol. But, in goes your hand and out comes scotch, vodka and last, but not least, a six pack. I'm disappointed. That's what got you divorced and almost fired!"
