Armchair detectives will bask in the enjoyment of a complex mystery reading "Ladies of the Lake: A Mystery Novel" (published by AuthorHouse), the new mystery novel from author Duncan L. Dieterly.
Set in Riverside County, Calif., "Ladies of the Lake" chronicles the adventures of Stony Sturm, a retired police officer who is coerced into becoming a private investigator to take on a cold case. He reluctantly agrees to launch a new investigation into the murder of a Riverside woman, a crime that the police maintain was the work of a serial killer still on the loose.
In the process of solving the murder case Stony uncovers a series of unanticipated criminal operations, including a major government scandal. He witnesses the assassination of a senior gang snitch and what originally seemed like a straightforward murder investigation leads him into a complicated venture involving MS-13 gangs and government perfidy.
"Ladies of the Lake" tells a suspenseful, unrelenting story that addresses real-life issues of crime, politics and corruption. Dieterly has crafted a gripping mystery filled with diligent sleuthing and raw revenge that builds to an explosive conclusion.
