Dr. Pooran Latchman, a native of Guyana and a former science teacher with the Dade County Public Schools in Miami, Florida, has completed his new book "The Other Half of Life": a colorful and vibrant story of a gentleman with a new found determination to recover the dreams of his youth spent on the West Bank of the Demerara River.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Dr. Pooran Latchman's sentimental tale details the life of a boy who grew up in a situation that provided barely enough of the basic necessities of life. With a strongly determined father, caring mother, and dependable siblings he was able to carve out a life that was fashioned from the dreams he carried in his childhood.

Years later, he found himself in a situation that allowed him to go back to his youthful dreams. This latter part of life is to be different from the first half. He now finds himself with no constraints or limitations. This awareness of absolute freedom to design his life in whatever way he chooses now engulfs his being and propels him to become that for which he was made to be. It had all been laid out in the dreams of his childhood.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase "The Other Half of Life" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
