Written as a biography recounting their 50 years of marriage, the book begins with the six Greek words that define love. It moves to Joye's story in Jamaica, then Joseph’s story in Jamaica, culminating their marriage story in New York. Stories of the children at Harvard and Cornell Universities are also included. The adventures of Joseph and Joye are highlighted as they travel to London, Scotland, Rome and South Africa.
“Secrets of a Happy Marriage” focuses on one verse of scripture found in Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her." With his life story, the author attempts to present love as reality in action in the daily lives of those in the Christian community. About the Author
Dr. Joseph H. G. Wint was born in May Pen, Jamaica. A graduate of the Kingston Technical High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in English at The Kings College, his master’s degree in English at New York University and his doctorate degree in education at Hofstra University. Of greatest importance to Wint is his spiritual journey. It was during the time when he was engaged in the establishment of Emmanuel Gospel Chapel in Mount Salem that he met his wife, Joye Buchanan. As of December 2015, they have been married for 50 years. They have two daughters, two sons-in-laws and five grandchildren.
