Dr. Gokulan Releases New Memoir on Triumph over Adversity

Dr. Gokulan invites readers to journey with him through a life characterized by hard work, courage and determination in his new memoir, "The Chronicle of My Struggle" (published by Partridge Singapore).

"This book gives a take away message to society," Gokulan says. "Through clear visualization, focusing, determination and diligent work, nothing is the result other than success. The power is within each and every one of us, and exploring and extracting it fully will decide our destiny."

Gokulan focuses primarily on chronicling his academic ambitions and narrates his experiences studying in India, Malaysia and the U.K. By sharing his struggles and triumphs, he hopes to reach out to readers and deliver a message of hope and encouragement.

An excerpt from "The Chronicle of My Struggle":

"I was not authorized to travel on that day because my name was not there on the list of confirmed passengers! I stood still for a moment with intense darkness filling my eyes, breaking out in cold sweat. When I got over the initial shock, I started to argue. I told the check-in officer that I am a doctor going to the UK for an important examination, for something crucial in my life and 'now only six days are left', I said, all in one breath. I was panting with sweat trickling down all over my body. I begged and in fact began to scream for some sort of help from him to travel the same day. He expressed his helplessness and I could read the sympathy from his face. He suggested contacting my travel agent who he alleged, was responsible for the mishap. Finally, I accepted the reality."
