SEATTLE, Aug. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ In honor of National Book Lovers Day, America's Favorite Veterinarian Dr. Gary Richter is teaming up with Cindy Aden, State Librarian of the Washington State Library System, to celebrate National Book Lovers Day and to share his book, "The Ultimate Pet Health Guide," with public libraries around Washington State.

The Washington State Library System hopes Dr. Richter's donation will inspire other authors to do the same. Aden said, "Libraries are a pathway to book marketing that authors have known all along. Getting your book in front of readers is what it's all about. We are so pleased to be working with Dr. Richter on distributing his book and getting it in front of readers across the state."

Dr. Richter's #1 Amazon Best-Selling book, "The Ultimate Pet Health Guide," shares his expert recommendations for an integrative approach to common pet diseases such as allergies, skin condition, diabetes, pancreatitis, GI and heart disease and cancer. All recommended treatments discussed in the book are backed by extensive research from years of success using these treatments in Dr. Richter's veterinary hospital.

In the book's foreword, actor Ian Somerhalder writes, "This book has the potential to start a global healthy pet movement and I truly hope it does."

Somerhalder, is the founder of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF), working to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects positively impacting the planet and its creatures. Somerhalder invited Dr. Richter to join ISF as a Veterinarian Medical Advisor to the Foundation. "We absolutely wanted to be involved to help pet parents get these life-changing insights, to ensure you have as much time as possible with your furry loved ones," said Somerhalder.

In the book, Dr. Richter shares his best nutritional approaches, which help pets live longer and healthier lives. The book is also a tool to uncover essential steps when it comes to navigating treatment options while leveraging the best traditional and holistic veterinary techniques. In addition, 50 custom-developed dog and cat food recipes are included. Some recipes are specially designed for diseases such as cancer, heart problems and kidney disease.

Whether you have a dog or a cat, both Dr. Richter and the Washington State Library System encourage you to celebrate National Book Lovers Day on August 9 by simply finding a story and reading it. Readers can choose a story or a tale that is exciting, mysterious, romantic, captivating and/or magical. The individual's genre of choice does not matter. What matters is the act of reading and the feeling one gets while reading. Head to a local library and pick out a book in celebration of National Book Lovers Day.

"We are proud of the amazing books we offer to our readers and we are honored to team up with Dr. Richter to include his book, which has captured our hearts," Aden said.

While the official book release date is August 15th, Dr. Richter's book is gaining momentum and he's become a #1 Best-Seller on Amazon. In addition, Dr. Richter's book made headlines and he was featured on nationally recognized Pet Shows with Dr. Katy and Dr. Frank Adams.
