"The decision to write this book was inspired by the fact that in my long career, there have been many public servants, especially police officers whose vast knowledge and experience in different facets of service have simply gone down the drain after they retired and passed on," Dr. Francis K. Sang, CBS, explains about his new book. Wanting to make a difference and share his own unique experiences in Kenyan law enforcement, Sang tells all in his memoir, "A Noble but Onerous Duty: An Autobiography by former Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID)" (published by AuthorHouse).
"A Noble but Onerous Duty" tells the life and career of a man who began from a humble background. Sang had to surmount many difficulties and challenges through much of his young life and in his completely different careers as a police officer, a diplomat and an academic, describing the difficulties faced through regime change and how they can be avoided or circumvented. It is through rare determination, resilience and faith in his destiny provided by the Creator that he overcame constant difficulties and reached the apex of each career.
Reflecting on his long journey that has brought him to the place where he is today, Sang also gives a number of insights on his work and life.
