"Coping: A Widowed Father's Story": a sensitive and heroic tale of adapting and rising to meet the challenges of not only losing a wife, but raising the 4 children who were left behind.
"Coping: A Widowed Father's Story" is the creation of published author, Dr. Bernie Wolfson, who spent his entire career in pharmaceutical research until he retired in 1998 at the age of 60 years. During that time, he raised 4 daughters, divorced, re-married and was blessed with 4 additional children. In 2003 Bernie's wife, Cheryl passed away and Bernie, at the age of 65 found himself bringing up 4 children, ages 11, 13, 15 and 17.
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Dr. Bernie Wolfson's new book offers powerful insight into the challenges of dealing with loss under unique circumstances.
Wolfson expands saying, "On June 17, 2003, I received a telephone call from my mother-in-law, who had accompanied my wife, Cheryl and son Seth to a basketball camp at the University of Florida. My mother-in-law, quite distraught, apprised me that Cheryl had a horrific accident. We lost Cheryl that day. At the age of 65, I found myself having to bring up 4 children 17 years and younger including one child who was mentally handicapped. I share with you my experiences bringing up my children to the present."
