"Looking out over the world, God showed me a view of Christian people not doing what they are supposed to be doing in this world," author Dorothy Heppard shares. Wanting to help Christians live a more humble lifestyle, Heppard wrote her book, "If You Can Believe It, You Can Receive It" (published by WestBow Press)
"God spoke to me and told me to write this book," Heppard explains. "He told me what to tell the Christians, what they needed to do in order to see changes take place. He let me know, we have to pray in season and out of season. Stay humble before Him."
"If You Can Believe It, You Can Receive It" is based on Heppard's beliefs in God, and she hopes her book influences others to come to Christ. The book presents an in-depth analysis of II Chronicles 7:14 found in the Bible.
An excerpt from the chapter entitled, "Shall Humble":
"What is being humble? Being humble or showing humility means being dependent totally and completely on the Lord-just like a baby depends totally on its mother. Jesus did not tell me a child; He said a baby. See babies are completely dependent upon others to take care of them; they cannot get food to eat; so they have to wait until the mothers decide to feed them or whoever will take care of them. It means putting aside what we think or what kind of education we have-not even what we think to be truths. We must lay our thoughts aside and lean on God's word (Him) and the Holy Ghost."
