TUCSON, Ariz.

Dorila Marting has recently released an omnibus collection featuring three of her previous books. "Doña Isidora, Peruvian Short Stories and Poetry of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" (published by Xlibris) vividly captures the grandeur of Peru through poetry and prose.

An immigrant from Peru, Marting uses her experiences to write captivating stories about her life as an immigrant and, above all, her appreciation for her birthplace. In "Doña Isidora," for example, the author uses Pomabamba, a quaint Andean town in Northern Peru, as the breathtaking backdrop for the romantic coming-of-age of Ishi Villarreal, a 15-year-old who must choose between centuries-old tradition and her one true love.

In "Peruvian Short Stories," Marting offers a slice of life and a taste of the culture of her homeland through a collection of stories inspired by local tradition and the folklore she heard in her childhood. She lends a glimpse into unique Peruvian practices and the way of life in the haciendas.

Finally, "Poetry of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" brings together Marting's original poems which describe her life in Peru and the United States. It is an insightful, firsthand account of the immigrant experience and a triumphant testament of the indomitable human spirit.
