"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." These are the wise words from George Bernard Shaw that gives an inspiring insight about life. Author Don Sawicki reminisces about his God-given life and explores the reasons behind why things happen the way they are and why some have to change in his new publication, "My Fantastic God-Given Life".

Growing up in a farm, Sawicki had his share of hardships and challenges. He grew up in the time of the Great Depression, seen the great blow that it left the people but also witnessed the good that came out of it. The importance of hard work is instilled in his young mind. As a middle child, he was always assigned to do errands. Later in his teens, he worked alongside his father in building up houses and buildings. Life was good and he was immensely enjoying it.

However, when he was 13, he met an accident that would change his life forever. He got second and first degree burns that scarred him for life, and that experience had a great impact on his attitude about life. He believed in this: "Have fun, die young, and leave a good-looking corpse." He had been reckless as a young man, and his love for cars often led him to trouble. But after all the bad times and the misfortunes he had to go through, he is still blessed with a wife who stayed with him after all these years and a family whom he can always count on. He proves that strong will and his faith in God helped him pick up the pieces of his life and become a better man.

"My Fantastic God-Given Life" shows a man's life peppered with lessons and second chances, but it was a good one. Sawicki's story will compelling story will inspire one not to give up in the face of adversity and to lead a life with no regrets.
