'Diplomatic Tales' by Lewis Richard Luchs is Released

In his new memoir, "Diplomatic Tales: Stories from a Foreign Service Career and One Family's Adventures Abroad" (published by Lulu), Lewis Richard Luchs offers a series of anecdotes about his life as an American diplomat and his family working and living in six countries abroad - exploring cultural differences and offering insights into the life of a U.S. official.

Taking place across Madagascar, Mali, Singapore, France, Malaysia and Australia, Luchs provides both the family and the professional sides of working abroad as a diplomat.

Luchs explains that he wrote the book out of his "desire to share the experience of an adventurous career and to respond to questions about diplomats and embassies that I am often asked."

The book has been selected for Kirkus' Indie Books of the Month Selection for the month of February.

About the Author
Lewis Richard Luchs, a retired senior Foreign Service officer, served in embassies in Madagascar, Mali, Singapore, France, Malaysia and Australia. He brought a background in socio-cultural anthropology and a lifelong interest in human cultures to U.S. diplomacy. Luchs has four sons and eight grandchildren. He lives in Oregon with his wife, Sharon. He is also the author of "Children of the Manse."
