To Give Thanks – Untold stories of our Pilgrim ancestors, the Mayflower, and first Thanksgiving that history no longer teaches us.
A 400th Anniversary Remembrance.
Release date: November 2018 via Denardi publishing services to all prominent book distribution outlets. To Give Thanks centers around the romance that grew a nation and our ancestor Pilgrims legendary adventure that changed the world. 2020 will be the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock. Authors Dave Curliss and Steve Curliss have uncovered the stories they left behind that have unfortunately fallen into the dustbin of history.
Imagine the thrill of uncovering the lost historical story of America's genesis, only to realize it has never been told properly. This discovery is what happened to two brothers when researching their family history. They came upon a lineage to no less than eight Mayflower Pilgrims. The discovery exposed the authenticity of America's birth as they arrived outside of the British colony of Virginia, America's first true romance and long-lost writings of the first Americans to live the American Dream.
Educational systems teach a romantic concept of generic liberation, promoted by elementary icons like turkeys and Pilgrim hats. In reality, the men and women who made passage on the Mayflower fled Old World ways of Europe on one of the most epic missions ever known to man. The foundation of Americana happened upon the Pilgrims 1620 arrival as they planted roots in a New World and set the course for the ages.
Takes from the authors: Dave Curliss, "Every now and then something comes along that makes one sit up and pay attention. It's called a classic. Without question, 'To Give Thanks' is primed to be a one of its kind epic of Americana," Steve Curliss, "History repeats itself and when researching the story it was fascinating to see how issues they dealt with mirror issues front and center in today's world. How they preserved is a lesson to us all."
Both authors, great-grandsons (x11) of
John Alden and
Priscilla Mullins, became enamored with the Pilgrims journey, the government they set up via the Mayflower Compact, which to this day has become the basis for governments around the world that are run by the people and for the people, to the way they overcame starvation and grew to thrive in the New World. Their goal was to present the research in a book for future generations to explore. To Give Thanks is a historical-fictional story based on that experience.
