DECATUR, Ga.

Author and emeritus Grace Towns Hamilton Professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Emory University, Delores P. Aldridge, Ph.D., previously wrote "Black Male-Female Relationships: A Resource Book of Selected Materials" and "Focusing: Black Male-Female Relationships." Both books tackled some of the issues that Aldridge says black families are faced with, while maintaining an educational and academic style. She decided that those two weren't enough and pursued her campaign for change with the publishing of a third book.

Aldridge's latest book, "Our Last Hope: Black Male-Female Relationships in Change" (published by AuthorHouse), aims to help guide black families to a place of stability and strength, through the analyzing of the many things that face black male-female relationships. Her book will also be receiving a fresh marketing push, including a new press release and free digital copies of her book to give to potential readers.

Aldridge is a believer that families are the backbone of any community, and that current black families, despite their remarkable resilience, are approaching a crossroads which may test the limits of their resiliency. In "Our Last Hope," she discusses many factors she believes have shaped and reshaped the male-female family, discussing at length the role religion, the economy and even hip hop has played in the changing landscape in which the black family struggles to survive.

Aldridge hopes that her book can help the youths of today realize the importance of a strong and healthy family, and that it can set them on the path to having a strong family of their own.
