CANANDAIGUA, New York

Having lived life in its miasma of frailties and foibles, Deborah Edick Bumpus shares her outlook and experiences through her riveting new book "She Danced Alone" (published by Xlibris). It explores one woman's life of being a teacher, mother and lover over a time span of 40 years.

In this striking novel, readers follow the fiery and hungry-for-life Susan as she goes about her misdeeds, adventures, travels and ponderings. Exuding the 60's experience, it exposes issues such as drug abuse, death, weapons in school and other controversial matters that have echoed back into today's society. It vividly depicts a life of teaching inner city students, facing a trial with a seven-day duration, and parenting an always-at-risk son. In this book, Bumpus expresses the inability to ever love anyone, not even herself; unfolding the inner turmoil felt by such a prison.

Heartfelt, provocative and moving, "She Danced Alone" is a story of a woman's need to succeed in life whilst facing the hurricane of conflicts and problems gusted her way.
