Deborah Anne Craig continues her series on Paddle the duck and his pond friends in "Paddle The Extraordinary Duck: The Adventure with Monty" (published by AuthorHouse).
"Paddle is a lovable duck that has a little problem of having very large feet," Craig explains. "He can't walk very well, but he swims perfectly." Paddle doesn't let his big feet stop him from helping his friends or enjoying an adventure though, as he proves in Craig's sequel.
This newest book in the Paddle series shows Paddle helping his mouse friend Monty and his family get to their new home. Monty and his family are constantly at risk from the many dangers that surround the pond, especially the large hawk that flies above. Paddle proves an invaluable friend when he allows Monty's family to ride on his back across the pond to reach their new home.
Craig hopes her book will appeal to children who have physical limitations, like Paddle with his extra large feet. "Children can be cruel, but nowadays there is more focus on how disabled persons can enjoy sports and do them well," Craig shares. "I hope mothers will use Paddle's experiences to help their children have compassion to friends at school that may have a disability."
