David Buchanan, a reformed drug dealer, has completed his new book "Tell Them No Lies": the gripping account of a child criminal whose involvement in the drug scene lands him in prison for murder.

Buchanan used his own life on the streets of Oakland, California as a child as inspiration for this intense representation of a young life corrupted by greed brought on by need. "After many years of incarceration and a murder trial, as well as being shot 12 times, (I) finally saw the light - a light that only few on this earth will see - and lived to talk about."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, David Buchanan's unsettling tale chronicles the life of David, a boy born into a world that revolves around drugs. Being the oldest of six children whose parents are addicts, the young man never stands a chance against the influences around him and by middle school is a dealer himself.

While the income is thrilling and the camaraderie he builds with his fellow young drug dealers is rewarding, David soon learns that there is a dark side to life on the streets that his already difficult upbringing didn't prepare him for. He was completely unprepared to be charged with murder and to withstand the two year incarceration that he would undergo while awaiting the trial.

David is a victim of circumstance. However, will the jury make the decision that will allow him the chance to change his path?

Readers who wish to experience this gripping work can purchase "Tell Them No Lies" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
