How can American societal issues influence the rest of the world?

In "The Deadly Serious Republic," author Dave Crawford brings to light fundamental issues impacting American society that also affect people all over the globe.

Throughout his life, Crawford has seen an increase in inequalities develop in democratic western civilizations. According to Crawford, if inequalities are left unaddressed, history has shown the consequences can be dire.

"Inequality in society rife with economic problems and political and social instability can drive people to do drastic things," Crawford said. "We saw this during the 20th century with the Russian Revolution and we also experienced it with the rise of the Nazis in Germany."

Satirical yet solemn, Crawford's novel explores underlying social tensions prevalent in many parts of the western world. Crawford details the most pressing issues and explains how these issues harm humanity.
