The idea of being accused of a crime one didn't commit is a terrifying one. Many movies and books have tackled this subject, glorifying the fight that the victim must go through and their ultimate victory - or sometimes defeat. Author Danielle tells her own story of being falsely accused in her new book, "I Made It Through the Rain" (published by Trafford Publishing).

Danielle begins her book by telling about her close relationship with her friend, Tiffany. When Tiffany and her daughter come to live with Danielle and Danielle's mother, things seem to be perfect. This all quickly changes however, when Tiffany falsely accuses Danielle of a heinous crime that could ruin her for life.

Danielle retells her story using colloquial language and a sincere tone, which she hopes will allow readers to better relate to her experience. She is hopeful her book will reach and help at least one person who is falsely accused - and remind them that justice can, and will, prevail.

An excerpt from "I Made It Through the Rain":

"My mom, who again has never met Marcus, asks Sonya 'Are you sure this is your dad because I'll throw him out'. Sonya doesn't respond. My mom then calls her niece Colleen and asked her why Sonya is so scared of Marcus. Colleen responds Sonya's just mad because Marcus is going to take all Tiffany's time from her now. But this is supposed to be her 'dad" right?'"
