Dan Lowery Pens CAPTAIN FISHBONES AND THE CURSED TREASURE

For author Dan Lowery, inspiration comes from his children. "I used to make up stories for my kids, and it became like a game," explains Lowery. "I would ask them to pick a theme and a time period, and I would create a story." Lowery's game has now become his new book for children, "Captain Fishbones And the Cursed Treasure" (published by AuthorHouse).

Captain Fishbones is a mean and fearsome pirate who rules the Caribbean during the 17th century. When he stumbles upon a treasure map, Captain Fishbones decides to go after the treasure, which turns out to be three cursed treasure chests. The chests teach Captain Fishbones some manners and hilariously change his life forever.

An excerpt from "Captain Fishbones And the Cursed Treasure":

"One day, a treasure map came into his possession. Even Capt. Fishbones did not know how he got the map, but with him being a pirate and the map being a treasure map, it did not matter. He sailed off to find the treasure through calm and rough weather. For you see, besides raiding and attacking other ships, treasure hunting was something pirates loved to do."

Lowery hopes children will learn, "It's never too late to become a better person."
