Cynthia Sens Announces Suspenseful New Series

SILVIS, Ill. - Cynthia Sens kicks off her Sapphire Staff Series with the publication of "The Devil's Playground: Book One of the Sapphire Staff Series" (published by iUniverse).

"I wanted to write a series where you grew with the characters over not just a single adventure but over many adventures and could experience their ups and downs, their triumphs and tragedies," Sens explains. "To experience the characters' growth and change in the face of events, I also wanted a series that incorporated humor as well as history, mystery and the elements of action and adventure."

Genealogist Mel Taylor is an ordinary guy with extraordinary problems living in the present day Midwest. Despite being born in 1916 and serving in World War II, Mel is only 44 years old. When his friend, Joseph, asks for help finding a missing boy, Mel accepts and follows a dangerous path that leads into his secret past.

Together with his assistant, Emily, Mel embarks on an investigative journey to find the missing boy. The two quickly find themselves in danger, searching for a Nazi scientist in the Iowa cornfields, and Mel is left with no choice but to rely on the powers of a holy relic to protect him, the sapphire staff.
