Curtis Inabinett, Jr., a former FAMU band member, and current saxophonist, echocardiographer, business owner, student, councilman, and multiple award winner, has completed his new book "The Legendary Florida A & M University Marching Band The History of 'The Hundred'": a historical masterpiece that tells the undeniable truth of 'The Hundred,' which will captivate the imagination.

Inabinett was awarded the University of Kansas' Kenneth Spencer Research Library's prestigious Alyce Hunley Whayne Visiting Researcher's Academic Travel Grant in October of 2015 to complete the research needed for this treasured book. The library's Kansas Collection is highly regarded and documents the African-American experience in the state of Kansas, which is where Florida A & M University Bandmaster Dr. William P. Foster was born. According to Inabinett, "Dr. William P. Foster, the band's creator, had to overcome racism while an undergraduate music major student at the University of Kansas in the early 1940's. (My) heartfelt message reveals the power of god and perseverance, and is a must read for all lovers of marching bands."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Curtis Inabinett, Jr.'s biographical tale is a 296-page, 8" by 10", full color book, filled with facts that will instill in readers why 'The Hundred' has survived as one of the top marching bands in America.

Inabinett not only explores the inspirational lives of Dr. William P. Foster, Dr. Julian E. White, and other members and leaders of the band, but he also highlights the negative issue of hazing in marching bands, and how 'The Hundred' came back to prominence after a self-imposed suspension in 2012 for a hazing death within its famed band. Inabinett dedicated himself for a seven-year period as he reflected back to personal experiences of his time in the band and conducted extensive, historical research in order to create this book and collection of photographs. This book succeeds in telling the storied history of "The Hundred," as vividly and with as much detail as possible.

Readers who wish to experience this intriguing work can purchase "The Legendary Florida A&M University Marching Band The History of 'The Hundred'" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
