When her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 62 years old, author Constance Morris and her family had no idea where the road would lead. Over the next 22 years, life held a lot of challenges as they coped with the mind-robbing decline of her mother's condition.

In her new novel "Soul Song: A Story of Family, Faith, and Love in the Midst of Alzheimer's" (published by WestBow Press), Morris has written from a perspective of one who has first-hand experience. "Readers find themselves a part of a story that is a contrast of compassion, grief, faith and joy," states Morris.

Through the main character, Becky Kennedy, Morris takes readers into the final days of Becky's mother's life. The story shares a glimpse of the reality of the struggles, while also demonstrating the strength and comfort of faith and family during the tough times. "There are so many people going through this today," states Morris. "Although the book is fiction, the experience is real. I want the readers to feel reassured that they are not alone and find comfort in the words of encouragement and hope."

"'Soul Song' dives deep into the connection of a daughter to her mother in the final stages of life, when memory is gone and faith sustains, while also experiencing the joy of her relationship with her daughters as their futures grow and their paths are revealed," states Morris. In the end, faith, family and love endure all in this compelling story.
