From Barbara M. Drew, an author, educator and musical composer, Songs by Barbara M. Drew is an impressive little book that features a song that presents an easy, enjoyable and effective method in memorizing all the names of the 50 states of America and their Capital Cities. Targeting people of all ages, Drew's work uses all 100 names in a fun way as part of the lyrics for a catchy boogie melody. She then showcases her book in an upcoming National Book Exhibit to share it with all Americans.

Drew's book is a brief compilation of songs created extemporaneously. It stemmed from thoughts and melodies lingering in the author's mind until transcribed into songs. Aside from the song "United States and Capital Cities Boogie," the book also contains three other songs. "The Best I Can Be" resulted from a friend's suggestion to compose a song for use at a promotional exercise from elementary school to middle school. "Lord, I'm Listening" was inspired by the natural disasters occurring throughout the world. "Glory to God" focuses on God's omnipotence as Creator of all things.

This book is not the only project Drew has. Simultaneously, she also published "Ancestry Potpourri," a source for recording and maintaining permanent records of information about family members, capable of spanning seven generations.

Creative, instructional and patriotic, Songs by Barbara M. Drew offers a detailed script to guide teachers in motivating and teaching the songs to children. This is a book every American home and school must have.

This book will be featured at the 2013 American Library Association Midwinter Book Exhibit in Seattle, WA on January 25 - 28, 2013.
