Josiah Beede, a lawyer and farmer in New Hampshire in the 1830s, discovers the body of a young girl in one of his fallow fields. Discovering that she was a worker at a nearby textile mill, he goes in search of answers. As Josiah investigates the girl's death, he discovers that despite having good intentions, some at the mill have fallen prey to human nature.

"Death of a Mill Girl: A Josiah Beede Mystery" (published by iUniverse) is the first novel in Clyde Linsely's "Josiah Beede" trilogy, now back in print for a limited time. Originally published in 2002, the story was inspired by Linsely's time in New England and the role it played in the Industrial Revolution of America.

Linsely hopes readers will find: "A good story with interesting characters and a sense of life in that time and place."
