Cliff Koch Shares Eating Disorders in Memoir

Author Cliff Koch is launching a new marketing campaign for his memoir, "Miracles happen - sometimes" (published by iUniverse), which recounts the turmoil and pain of his wife's battle with eating disorders.

With his book, Koch hopes to spread a warning about the damaging effects of anorexia and bulimia in both the victim's life and that of the people they love. This is a true account of one person's journey of survival once the residual effects of the disease take over.

Koch describes the turmoil his wife endured as she battled, revealing the physical, emotional and mental damage caused by his wife's disease and the void it created as it "ate away at her soul."

Because the eating disorders caused extensive vascular damage, Koch's wife lost both feet, all the fingers on her left hand and the tips of two fingers on her right hand. She suffered from kidney failure, respiratory trouble and random comas. Doctors didn't know if she would survive, but she did.

"Her greatest wish was to become healthy so she could return home. Her second wish was to tell everybody around her about her sickness and feelings," Koch says.
