SALT LAKE CITY, July 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ Clayton M. The commencement, which is being held at the Salt Palace, will begin at 9:45 a.m. MDT, and will be streamed live online at www.wgu.edu/wgu/commencement_summer2017.

Christensen has long been a supporter of WGU and the university's learning model. WGU pioneered competency-based education, a model Christensen has recognized for disrupting higher education and improving student outcomes.

"His life and work are all about changing lives through innovation, and it will be inspiring to listen to one of the world's foremost thinkers on the topic."

One of the world's experts on innovation and growth, Christensen introduced the theory of "disruptive innovation" and has founded a number of successful companies and organizations that apply these theories. Christensen is the author of eleven books, including the New York Times best-selling, How Will you Measure Your Life?. The Economist magazine named The Innovator's Dilemma, another one of Christensen's well-known works, as one of the six most important books about business ever written. Christensen holds a B.A. from Brigham Young University, an M.Phil in applied econometrics from Oxford University, and an MBA and a DBA from Harvard Business School. He is currently the Kim B.
