IRVING, Texas, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ Chuck E. Cheese's announced today the promotional agreement with I Can Read! books by HarperCollins Children's Books for weekly "Reading With Chuck E." story time events at participating Chuck E. Cheese's locations. Starting May 5, 2015 and running through June 30, 2015, the story time events will take place every Tuesday at 11a.m. and 6 p.m. Led by Chuck E. Cheese and a team member, one I Can Read! title will be selected each month for the story time. I Can Read! is widely recognized as the premier beginning reader series with more than 175 million books sold featuring beloved characters from award-winning authors and illustrators, published by HarperCollins Children's Books.

"As a company, we want to provide kids a wholesome, fun experience, including opportunities to learn through play. What better way than to combine reading with a visit to Chuck E. Cheese's?" said Michael Hartman, chief marketing officer of CEC Entertainment, Inc. "HarperCollins is the perfect promotional partner to help amplify and bring more value and visibility to the importance of taking time out each day to discover new things through the pages of a book."

For the month of May, the I Can Read! book selected is the classic Danny and the Dinosaur by Syd Hoff. Danny and his prehistoric playmate, who make even the most mundane activities become extraordinary, enjoy finding a big-enough place to hide a dinosaur in a game of hide-and-seek. In June, "Reading with Chuck E." will feature Little Critter: A Green, Green Garden by Mercer Mayer. Little Critter and his family plant and grow their own fruits and vegetables to prepare a delicious dinner.

In addition, Chuck E. Cheese's wants to reward young bookworms for reading every day by providing 5 free tokens to guests who track their reading through the Reading Rewards Calendar, which can be downloaded from chuckecheese.com/activities. Once the calendar is full, guests can bring the printout in-store to redeem their prize.

Chuck E. Cheese's features food and entertainment options for all ages, from delicious pizza and a salad bar to games appropriate for toddlers, kids, teens and adults. Be sure to follow Chuck E.
