Award-winning authors Christine Schutt, Josh Rolnick, and Anna Solomon headline the last Pen Parentis Literary Salon of the Spring 2012 season. The three authors will read from new works and sign books on Tuesday, May 8th at the Gild Hall (a Thompson Hotel) in their library bar located at 15 Gold Street in the center of the Financial District. The acoustic guitar stylings of Ben Lahring will set the mood as audience members grab a glass of wine at the bar and talk books.
All Pen Parentis authors balance a successful literary career with an active family life, and events conclude with a glimpse into how this is accomplished.
Pen Parentis’ monthly salons are made possible in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and administered by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and additionally with public funds from the Fund for Creative Communities, supported by The New York State Council on the Arts, and administered by the LMCC.
Admission is free, and everyone 21+ is invited to attend. 7pm start. Pen Parentis is off for the summer months and will return on Tuesday, September 11th to open their eighth season of programs and present the winner of the Pen Parentis Writing Fellowship for New Parents.
