Christine Gail Garcia Releases Poetry Collection, WORDS BY GOD'S GRACE

When Christine Gail Garcia began writing poetry, she did so to express personal communication between her and God. Soon, however, she began to feel that God meant for her work to be shared, so she decided to publish her words, hoping to bring comfort and grace to others. This new book includes prayers asking for strength, prayers of sorrow and pain, prayers asking for forgiveness and prayers of praise and thanksgiving.

"Words by God's Grace" focuses on the challenges - and the blessings - of everyday life. Each poem is followed by an explanation of the author's thoughts on the topic, as well as Bible verses related to the topic. In "Saying Goodbye," Garcia writes of the pain - and the joy - of losing a loved one. "If you know your loved one walked with the Lord, let your heart rejoice, for they go to their reward. Angels have escorted them through the pearly gates, and God has taken them into His embrace." Her explanation points out that Christians experience grief but know their loved one is with the Lord. It's the unbelievers who will be parted from their loved ones forever. The author's anguish for Christ's suffering is apparent in the poem "My Heart is Broken," especially these lines: "My heart is broken. His body was broken. Oh, how He suffered because of my sin." As Garcia writes in the explanation, "Every time I think of how much Jesus suffered to cleanse me of my sins, my heart breaks. Without His sacrifice, there would be no hope for anyone. No amount of praise and worship is enough."

This is the first book for author Christine Gail Garcia, a retired schoolteacher. The mother and grandmother writes from the heart based on the trials and tribulations of daily life.
