In her new poetry collection, "Florilegia: Anthology for My Lord" (published by Balboa Press), author Christine Melody Andersen utilizes lyrical, melodic poetry to communicate her vast love for God and how she interprets her faith as a woman of the 21st century.

"My Lord inspired me to write the experiences and epiphanies," says Andersen, "which coalesced into existence during moments of understanding and were often accompanied by passionate emotion and cognition."

"Florilegia" illustrates the feelings and wonders of the modern Christian woman through poetry. Andersen explores what her faith means to her and how it has defined her as a person. She looks to God for guidance and seeks to answer unspoken questions.

"This book has a plethora of fresh understandings and creative connections, which are embedded within a melodic and literate style," writes Andersen. "Readers will perhaps gain answers and a fresh insight to the humanness and feelings of historical characters in a modern 21st century perspective."

An excerpt from "Florilegia":

"Lord, I ask of you this day,
please allow Moses to finally enter into the promised land...
...You alone My Lord, have the power and right
to change history."
