Christianity in a Post-Modern World Image Does God exist? If so, is Jesus Christ the only way to God?

Have you thought about asking your dentist?

In "Dethroning God: The Collapse of Orthodox Christian Theology in a Postmodern and Postsecular World," Dr. Larry Ivan Vass provides a study of Christianity in a post-modern world. In his book, he discusses philosophical ideas that have influenced how people view the Bible, while exploring whether the Bible can be interpreted as absolute truth. He also defines the sovereignty of God, how postmodernity denies it, how it infringes on liberty, and he provides recommendations for living a Christian life.

"I rejected being a member of the Christian family for years," Vass said. "There is a noticeable lack of theology today of proper doctrine and understanding of just who God is."

Dr. Vass, a full-time dentist and ordained minister, received his MDiv and PhD in theology from Trinity College of the Bible and Seminary of the University of Liverpool, England. When he is not working on teeth, he is a preacher and Sunday school teacher on the outskirts of Washington, D.C.

"The Gospel has been softened to bring in the numbers, to fill the seats in the sanctuary," Vass said. "The truth is not being preached, in fear that people will be lost."
