The book is intended for children ages 3 to 10, for whom changes in life can often be frightening. The young readers quickly learn that life forces them to change, and that if they fail to embrace change, they run the risk of being constantly miserable, like the little tree in the story. The book helps young readers find the courage to face their own difficulties and come to terms with the changes life throws at them.
"While watching my children grow up and helping them deal with the transitions in their lives, I noticed how hard it was for them, as for any human being, to adjust to new situations and conditions," said Or Slilat. "The natural human tendency is to remain in the same familiar surroundings, but change and the challenges that come with it are what make us grow and develop."
In this meaningful and humorous book, young readers are given the opportunity to use their imagination and become co-creators of the book by adding text bubbles and coloring its beautiful black and white illustrations.
