Using animals in education can help children to stay focused and retain knowledge.

This approach led Florence Kubota to compile her personal photographs of animals into a fun and interactive children's book. "Count on African Animals" contains photos of African animals that she took during a safari.

"The book is filled with individual and groups of African animals that I hope will make counting and math fun and interactive for young children," Kubota said.

"Count on African Animals" comes equipped with an audio disk that plays authentic sounds of the animals pictured in the book. In addition to improving the English and math skills of young children, Kubota hopes to introduce them to the African culture.
