According to the American Childhood Cancer Organization, childhood cancer has a much higher survival rate when they are diagnosed in the early stages. The reality of cancer is that it is not discriminatory; it can happen to any person of any age. Like that of author Cherie L Braham's nephew's son, who was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his spine at age two.

To show how much she loves the admirable young boy, Braham writes and publishes a story of him in "A Hero in Gray" (published by Trafford Publishing). Grayson, the young boy, does all sorts of everyday things. Although he has to endure the challenges due to his health condition and cancer treatments, Gray, now eight years old, remains courageous and fights cancer like a real hero.

Readers may easily relate to this inspirational story as they may have experienced going through the same pain and burden of having a loved one suffering an illness. "Many families and children are fighting cancer and other illnesses, we need to support and encourage them with love," Braham tells. "There are amazing programs like Make a Wish Foundation, the BC Children's Hospital Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House, that also need our support and have many resources for families!" Braham added.

An excerpt from the book "A Hero in Gray:"
Grayson thinks you're a hero too! "I'm A Hero! I Fight Cancer!"
