Charles E. Jones' New Short Story Collection Shares Lessons Learned

What do a young orphan riding on the Pony Express, a convoy of ships on a mission to Europe in 1942 and a young couple whose priest has refused to marry them all have in common? These varied lives display attitudes, principals and values of the recent past that are still important today, taking center stage in author Charles E. Jones' new collection of short stories, "Timeless Stories of the Not-So-Modern World" (published by iUniverse).

In "The Pony Express Rider," Donny Wells escapes an 1860 orphanage only to face a terrifying near-death encounter on the plains. In "Men and the Sea," a convoy of ships on a mission to Europe in 1942 takes a gamble of huge proportions. And in "Somewhere in Time," a young couple asks a priest to marry them, but he refuses.

Taking place over the past two centuries, "Timeless Stories of the Not-So-Modern World" presents a collection of adventure, romance and industry stories focusing on social issues, morals and character, and customs of various eras. They are Jones' commentary on changing times and personal values.
