In the course of life, an individual inevitably runs into disappointments and setbacks that bring an overwhelming feeling of powerlessness. Without even realizing it, one will find the self stuck in a pit of despair, defeat and emptiness. Unfettering the self from the shackles of emotional darkness can be a daunting task as healing, renewal and transformation become seemingly impossible for the traumatized. Having hit rock bottom herself before, Cassaundra Davis-Bunkley kindles the candles of hope with her debut book titled "Transformation for Trauma".

Davis-Bunkley believes the world is not in a good shape. The ramifications of present-day crises - the so-called Great Recession, series of natural calamities, violence, especially gun-related ones, among others - allow despondency to set into the lives of many. Looking deeper and closer, abuse, divorce and broken families are widespread in society. Consequently, more and more people feel down in the dumps, blanketed by an unending cycle of darkness. All that said, Davis-Bunkley aims to lighten the yoke of trauma, pain and misfortune through this liberating book.

Lyrically and boldly exploring the steps to healing and transformation, "Transformation for Trauma" reads like a journey, allowing the fortunate reader to sit and reflect on the situations and factors that cause deep feelings of hopelessness within. At its heart beats the theme of trauma to transformation which entails a three-stage process. Akin to the life cycle of a butterfly, one will undergo gradual metamorphosis by ridding the self of negativity, purging the soul of destructive thoughts and emotions and do away with deeds that lead to harm and self-pity. All these made possible through God's healing, love, grace and power.

A timely publication and an invaluable tool for self-renewal, "Transformation for Trauma" frees readers from the shackles of trauma, darkness, and pain.
